Ideal for unobtrusive spot miking, such as hanging or table use, the d:dicate™ 4011E Cardioid Microphone, Active Cable is a compact cardioid microphone from the modular d:dicate™ Microphones Series. The microphone has a length of only 3.5 cm (1.4 in) and a low-key appearance.

The d:dicate™ 4011E Omnidirectional Microphone features an integrated cable solution with rear (4011ER) cable entry. This allows the microphone to be hung from the ceiling and create precise and repeatable positions and angles when spot miking orchestra sections or ambience atmospheres. The first-order cardioid pickup pattern provides quality separation between sound sources.

Capable of handling high SPLs without distortion, the microphone is tailored for close-miking applications; minimizing bleed from other instruments. It is ideal for close-miking of instruments like acoustic guitar, drums or grand piano. With its accessories, it can even be placed, for instance, in the piano frame.

A flat on-axis frequency response and excellent phase response deliver a totally faithful reproduction of the original sound. The off-axis response is similarly smooth so that any leakage is an accurate reflection of the original, though attenuated according to the true first-order cardioid pickup pattern.

This microphone is part of the flexible d:dicate™ Microphone Series. At any time, and with no tools needed, it is possible to transform the d:dicate™ 4011ER/ES Omnidirectional Microphone into a new configuration. You can combine it with another d:dicate™ or d:facto™ Microphone Capsule or Preamplifier.
