Matrox Monarch HD is an easy-to-use video streaming and recording appliance designed for professional video producers that allows simultaneous streaming and recording for high-quality post-event editing. The device generates an H.264-encoded stream compliant with RTSP or RTMP protocols from any HDMI input source. While encoding the video at bitrates suitable for live streaming, Matrox Monarch HD simultaneously records a high-quality MP4 or MOV file to an SD card, a USB drive, or a network-mapped drive. Matrox Monarch HD is remotely controlled using any computer or mobile device with a web browser.

Record master quality video while streaming
Monarch HD allows recording at the highest possible quality, and allows for fast turnaround VOD files or fully post produced highlight reels. Combining the power of the built-in H.264 encoder with Matrox's high quality deinterlacing and scaling engines provides excellent results.

Ready to edit and upload with MP4 and MOV
Monarch HD provides the option of recording high quality H.264 video as MP4 or MOV files. Upload files to your own web server or to a Content Delivery Network (CDN) like YouTube, or directly import the file into most creation tools without the need for file transcoding.

Robust and practical design
Monarch HD allows one touch streaming and recording pushbuttons, low power consumption, a locking power connector, and a fanless design. The HDMI output makes it easy to monitor what you are streaming and recording regardless of whether the signal is received from a camera, a switcher, or a computer.

Record to anything
Select from a variety of media types such as SD card, USB drive, or system drive on a computer. The ability to create split files while recording is particularly useful when recording for longer periods of time.
